SCJ Chairman Launches his monograph
European Convention on Human Rights: Positive and negative obligations

Dr. hab. Mihai Poalelungi, the Chairman of the Supreme Court (SCJ), launched recently at ULIM, his monograph Human Rights: positive and negative obligations, published in Romanian and English, in Chisinau and Iasi.

At the initiative of Library Information Department, the author dialogued for about two hours, with students of the Law Faculty. The event was also attended by Rector Andrei Galben and Cauia Alexandru, the Dean of the Law Faculty and the staff of the university.

In his greeting remarks, Andrei Galben noted the great contribution of the author as a scholar, who has set out his vision on human rights through examples from Moldova and the EU, as a judge at the ECHR. "For the first time, original materials were used, which was exemplified by the universal nature of human and citizen rights, not only in Moldova, but European states too," the Rector says.
