Visit of H.E. Lee Yang-Goo, ambassador of South Korea in the Republic of Moldova for the 10th anniversary of the activity of the Korean Language and Culture Center “Se Jong” and the celebration of 26 years since the establishment of Moldavian-Korean relations
On November 7th, 2018 ULIM has marked the 10th anniversary of the activity of Korean Language and Culture Center “Se Jong” and 26 years since the establishment of Moldavian-Korean relations.
On this occasion, H.E. Lee Yang-Goo, the ambassador of South Korea in Ukraine and in the Republic of Moldova, accompanied by a delegation, has visited ULIM and has met the representatives of university administration: rector of ULIM, Associate professor, Dr. Ilian Galben, Associate Professor, Dr. Alexandru Cauia, Vice-rector for Academic Strategy and Programs of Studies, University professor, Dr.hab. Elena Prus, Vice-rector for Scientific Research and Doctoral Studies, Dr. Valentina Ciumacenco, Vice-rector for International Relations and Han Ho Jin, director of the Korean Language and Culture Center “Se Jong”. The main subjects that were discussed are related to the implementation and the development of common strategies in education system, the strengthening of academic mobility programs for the students and the continuation of developing projects initiated with the regretted founder and rector of ULIM, Academician Andrei Galben.
The high guest has hold in the forum “Development Statistics of South Korea on different fields” a public lecture for the students, where he has revealed the principles and the effects of the globalization. “It is necessary to orient in the era of globalization toward certain principles and to achieve certain skills as: to think positively, to practice the sport, to read, to have a time management and to be tolerant”, has mentioned the diplomat. In this context, public lectures were hold by University professor, Dr.hab. Alexandru Gribincea together with the Korean professor Kim Young-Dahl, who have presented useful information on the culture, the history, the language and the education system from South Korea. The graduates of ULIM – Carolina Vataman, Daniela Ceri and Elena Margineanu have benefited of academic mobility in universities from South Korea. The young girls had the possibility in the forum to tell about the similarities and the differences remarked in the home and Korean education system, they have presented studies related to the development process of South Korea and have promoted ideas for the increase of the standard of living from the Republic of Moldova.
We inform that on Thursday, October 8th, 2018, a festive program in the context of Moldavian-Korean days will be organized at State Philharmonic “S. Lunchevici”, all those who are interested in the traditions, language and culture of South Korea are awaited to come.
